Evolving in 2009 |
For 2009, our focus is on establishing our new camp identity and theme, using our existing and combined resources to evolve into a true oasis in the midst of the Black Rock Desert. Our major projects for 2009 include: palm trees, stripper pole island, lounge improvements (including a new bar), kitchen improvements, power and lighting improvements, and sound upgrades (including a new dj booth). Expect to find a truly decadent oasis at our camp, with a luxurious lounge, 24/7 power, plenty of hammocks, and lots of love.
About the Decadent Oasis |
Formerly John Cougar Mellon Camp and Alpha Seven, we are two Burning Man institutions who first joined forces in 2008 to live the American Dream together. It was so dreamy that we're taking it a step further in 2009, and Evolving into a whole new theme camp - a Decadent Oasis in the desert, if you will.
We're hard at work preparing an oasis of glowing palm trees, lazy hammocks, and a decadent lounge, complete with stripper pole and 24/7 power. You'll be able to spot us from far and wide by the 30-foot glowing palm tree crowning our pride-and-joy 1974 Gillig school bus. We're a large and diverse camp, with members from the Bay Area and throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and Australia. We are of all ages and come from many different walks of life. We always love meeting new people, and look forward to seeing you on the playa!
